Have questions about Office 365 Backup using CloudCover 365? We’ve compiled an FAQ list below. If we’ve not answered your question, please contact the team directly.
DOES MICROSOFT OFFICE 365 / MICROSOFT 365 BACKUP MY DATA?
No, Microsoft 365 does not backup customer data. It offers geo-redundancy protection, which can often be mistaken for backup, but this only ensures that the service is operational again and running in a different location should a service outage occur.
To truly protect Microsoft 365 data from data loss, organisations need to have an independent backup in place. You can read more about this on our ‘Why backup Microsoft 365?‘ page.
On the basic authentication option, we only use your password for initial setup, after that all access is controlled by Azure AD. If you are using MFA we don’t need it at all.
